Description

This module provides you with the knowledge and skills to use school data to inform strategic planning. It will also explore how to use data to strengthen leader and teacher practice to improve student outcomes.

It focuses on evidence-based decision-making and the skills you need to analyse and interpret available data to improve outcomes for students.

Module 6 in the Strategic Management for School Leaders suite, which supports the Department of Education and Training's commitment to the public sector values of integrity, accountability, respect, leadership, impartiality and responsiveness across the organisation.

Audience

Designed for principal class members and a member of their leadership team. 

1-day workshop developed by the Performance Division, Regional Services Group.

Prior to the workshop, participants must complete 30 minutes of preparatory work.

You can arrange regional data coaches for more support when you complete the course.

By participating in this module, you will learn how to:

  • analyse and use key school data sets that inform planning for school improvement
  • identify key themes arising from these data sets
  • further explore and validate findings
  • lead a data informed conversation about improvement and strategic planning.

The course fees are significantly subsidised by the Department of Education and Training.

Co-contribution: $40 (incl. GST) for each Victorian government school participant.
