Inspire: Local Leaders

The Building Local Leadership initiative is an important enabler of the Victorian Government’s Education State reforms, helping increase the number of quality leaders for school leadership roles.

The initiative includes two programs:
  • the Inspire: Local Leaders program, and
  • the associated Facilitator Training program.

The Inspire program provides high potential leaders with the foundational capabilities required for school leadership. Inspire will develop the knowledge and skills needed to start making a difference in a school. The program will ensure that participants are well-trained, well-networked and well-prepared to succeed as a leader.

The Facilitator Training program will prepare up to 200 principals, assistant principals and senior regional staff to deliver Inspire to high potential leaders in their schools and networks. A blended delivery model will enable this highly scalable approach to reach larger audiences.

Career Stage

Inspire: Local Leaders program is designed for emerging leaders with approximately one to five years of teaching experience.

Facilitator Training program is designed for principal class members and senior regional staff.

Responsibility for identifying participants for the programs will rest with schools and networks, supported by regional teams and Bastow.
