The achievement gap between the learning outcomes of students in the same school as well as students from rural and remote locations across the state is widening1
. School leaders at all levels have the responsibility to help shape the organisational conditions in which learning is delivered to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and develop to the best of their abilities.
The changing landscape of learning, brought about by macro issues such as changes in technology, demographics and policy contexts2
, means school leaders need support to develop the necessary skills and capabilities to lead school change that best responds to the needs of their students. Furthermore, connecting successful educational change leaders with those wishing to lead change in their own contexts increases the exposure to methodologies and ideals that can help school leaders build the necessary skills to lead change.
EC14 is organised by Education Changemakers, an organisation that is dedicated to supporting school leaders facing significant educational challenges. The conference provides school leadership teams the opportunity to collaborate and connect with other leadership teams from Victoria and Australia. Bringing together speakers from around the world and different contexts, EC14 provides a framework in which school leadership teams can discuss change initiatives in working groups and define how to actualise this in their school.
Bastow has partnered with Education Changemakers over the past two years to deliver three successful Changemakers programs for Emerging Leaders in government schools. Bastow is providing subsidised places to attend the EC14 conference for government school leadership teams.
EC14 will be held on 29 and 30 September at Storey Hall at RMIT in Melbourne. Further information on EC14 can be found at www.ec14.net
Bastow subsidised fees for attendance for both days are:
- 2-3 team members $450 per person
- 4-5 team members $410 per person
- 6 or more team members $375 per person
These fees include GST.
